Intel Previews Clarkdale Processor Performance Numbers
The Benchmark Numbers
The presentation continues by showing off performance numbers of an Intel Clarkdale Processor 3.33GHz with 4MB of cache versus an Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 and Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q9400. The Clarkdale dual-core processor is significantly faster than some of Intel’s previous offerings that are quad-core!
The integrated memory controller in Clarkdale performs well in the example above showing Clarkdale running dual-channel DDR3 1333MHz memory versus the other Core 2 processors running dual-channel DDR2 800MHz memory.
The last benchmark that Intel showed off was PCMark Vantage and once again the performance advantages of Clarkdale are obvious as the overall score was 30-40% higher than what was seen on the other two platforms. Intel looks to have a high-performing part on their hands with the 32nm Westmere processor series and we can’t wait to see Arrandale and Clarkdale processors hit the street later this year!
