Intel LGA CPU Roadmap Shows Broadwell, Skylake-S and Broadwell-E Release Dates

By

One of our readers tipped us off this afternoon that PCOnline over in China has what could be a leaked Intel Desktop Platform LGA (Socketed) Processor Roadmap. Depending on how you look at it either confirms all the Broadwell and Skylake desktop SKUs that were previously leaked or someone with some free time made up a slide to look official. We don’t know the authenticity of this slide or where it originally came from (our source), so be sure to keep that in mind when looking at it below.

Intel Skylake Roadmap

The slide shows that the Intel Core i7-5775C and Core i5-5675C ‘Broadwell’ unlocked desktop processors will come out in Q2 2015 to go along with what we assume will be the Intel 100-series chipset platform that will be released at the same time as the processors. Those two processors appear to be the only Broadwell LGA processors slated to be released for the current LGA design.

In Q3 2015 it appears that Intel will release Skylake-S processors starting with the unlocked Core i7-6700K and Core i5-6600K enthusiast processors that are expected to be 95W TDP processors. Intel then appears to be rounding out the series with the more mainstream and budget friendly Core i7-6700, Core i5-6600 and Core i5-6500. These are expected to be the middle of the road when it comes to the TDP and are said to be 65W processors. The Core i5-6400 is not shown on this slide, but we still expect it to be available when Skylake-S processors are kicked out the door. The most power efficient of the Skylake-S processors will be the T-series at 35W and those are not shown on this slide as that is a totally different demographic.

The roadmap also confirms that Intel Broadwell-E processors will be coming out in Q1 2016.
