Zolkon over in Thailand says that Intel will be releasing Kaby Lake processor on January 5th, 2017 during CES 2017! In the same news post they have posted up what appears to have an Intel Core i7-7700K processor that has been overclocked up to 4.9 GHz.

The site got the photos from a Facebook user named Luning Duan who added the photos on November 25th and appears to work in the PC industry according to info on his profile. Someone asked him about NDA’s five days ago and he didn’t respond to the comment, but it appears the screenshots are real from what we can tell compared to other leaks.

Here are CPU-Z and HWiNFO64 screenshots of what appears to be the Intel Core i7-770K at stock settings. Luning Duan appears to be using an ASRock Z170 OC Formula motherboard to run this Kaby Lake processor.

It looks like he was able to get the processor up to 4.8GHz with 1.296V, but it appears that he was hitting 100C and the CPU was throttling by up to 5% when he was running the AIDA64 stress test.

It looks like he was able to tweak a few things and got 4.9GHz stable at 1.264V and was no longer hitting 100C. To reach 4901.18MHz he ran the 49x multiplier with the stock 100 MHz base clock. It looks like the temperature was still very high though.

These temperatures are high, it was never mentioned what heatsink was being used. This leak is causing people to question the Thermal Interface Material (TIM) that Intel us using on Kaby Lake. Let’s just hope that a cheap HeatSink Fan (HSF) was being used and not a high-end enthusiast water cooling kit!
