The Inateck FE2006 is hands down the fastest 2.5-inch USB 3.0 enclosure that we have ever tested! If you are looking to buy a USB 3.0 enclosure and you care about performance be sure to purchase a model with UASP support as makes a noticeable performance improvement. The fact that we were getting right around 450MB/s from our SSD is a testament to this as just a couple years ago these speeds were unfathomable from such a low cost housing. We see consumers around the world being interested in a product like this though as SSDs continue to drop in price and these portable drives make moving around files quick and painless. The plastic tool-less housing never got hot and we used the enclosure for an afternoon without any heat issues.

At $16.99 shipped the FE2006 is competitively priced and won’t break the bank as most people looking for external storage with an SSD will have no problem handing over $17 for a device that will let them move around files at 450MB/s! The Inateck FE2006 is also backed by a 1-year limited warranty should something ever go wrong.

The only negative thing about the Inateck FE2006 is that it is made entirely from plastic and that gives the unfortunate cheap lightweight feel. That is something you have been forewarned about, so if you order one be sure you can live with such a portable drive housing.
