iMac Pro Ships Thursday

Apple will start to ship the new super high-end iMac Pro AIO computer this Thursday. That means you still have time to take out a second mortgage on your home or sell a kidney to pay for one. The high-end machine will start at $4,999 according to The Verge.

You can bet if you fully load one of the machines it will sell for much more than that. Apple has promised that the iMac Pro would launch before the end of the year, and it has kept that promise. Apple had also promised to launch the HomePod speaker this year, but has already backtracked on that one.

The iMac Pro will pack in Xeon processors, a 5K display and a Radeon Vega GPU. Early reviews that are out so far claim that the machine is fast. It cant help but be fast with the specs Apple has thrown in.

The real question with this machine is if the pros that it is aimed at will be willing to pay $5,000 for starters when they can go to a Windows machine and save a lot of money for the same performance. I’m not sure the black lightning cable that is exclusive to this machine will be enough to lure in most pros.
