HP Slashes TouchPad Tablet Prices Down to $99.99 and $149.99

By

HP gave retailers permission Saturday to drastically reduce pricing on both of the companies TouchPad tablet PCs. The HP TouchPad just came out on July 1st with the option of either 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage for $499.99 and $599.99, respectively. Prices on those models are now $99 for the 16GB and $149 for the 32GB TouchPad! HP announces on Thursday that the company would be doing away with the tablets, so the price slash comes just days after this news. Best Buy seems to be the last resort for anyone looking for a cheap TouchPad as all other retailers report to be sold out. HP mentioned that they will restock their Home & Home Office website with more TouchPads on either Monday or Tuesday of this week.

Due to HP’s decision to discontinue its TouchPad product, Best Buy will now provide clearance pricing for all TouchPad 16GB and 32GB models (SKUs 2842056, 2842092) regardless of previously advertised prices or promotions. Best Buy will not accept customer returns or exchanges on clearance-priced TouchPads bought through any Best Buy channel.
