HP Announces Notebook with Radeon HD 7000M Series Graphics Cards

It appears that computer Giant HP has made a mistake and disclosed one of AMD’s upcoming Radeon HD 7000M series GPUs before AMD did. HP made the mistake of listing the Radeon HD 7690M XT as an available option for some of its notebooks. This is the first public disclosures of a 28 nm GPU and it confirms that the Radeon HD 7000 series is likely going to be a bottom to top launch. The new options that have been mentioned were the Radeon HD 7470M and Radeon HD 7690M. We believe that both of these mobile processors are based on the “Thames-XT” GPU. The Thames-XT GPU is built on the 28 nm process, and features current-generation VLIW4 stream processors, a 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, and is DirectX 11 compliant. AMD unveiled this GPU at a press event in London on the 5th according to sources in the industry. You can see the mention of both the Radeon HD 7470M and Radeon HD 7690M XT Graphics Card here.

Apparently, AMD is serious about the upcoming 28-nanometer graphics chip: How are the two notebooks Asus X53TK-SX058V and the equipped HP Envy 17-3030ew each with a Radeon HD 7000, specifically the versions Radeon HD 7670M and Radeon HD 7690M. These are both part of London-Series, the code name of the HD 7600 XT series is Thames.
