Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro 750GB Portable Hard Drive Review
By
CrystalDiskMark and ATTO Performance
Hitachi moved to USB 3.0 in the Touro Mobile but had 5400 RPM drives. Now that the Touro Mobile Pro version has faster 7200RPM drives it can better utilize the bandwidth that USB 3.0 provides.
CrystalDiskMark 3.01 1000MB Files Test Benchmark on the Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro 750GB:
Benchmark Results: This test shows that the 7200 RPM drive in action with that USB 3.0 giving it performance of 124 MB/s read and 114 MB/s write which places it right around a Western Digital Caviar Green drive on an internal SATAII connection.
ATTO Disk Benchmark v2.47 Transfer Speed
ATTO has been around for quite awhile but still gives us good information on the performance of current hard drives. In this test ATTO measures the raw transfer speed for both reads and writes and presents it as a graph. We ran ATTO with file sizes from 0.5kb up through 8192kb with the total length being 256mb.
Benchmark Results: This test shows similar performance to CrystalDiskMark with 117 MB/s reads and 103 MB/s writes which again places it similar to a WD Caviar Green series drive.
