HIS Introduces The HD 7970 X 3GB Graphics Card With GHz Chipset

By

Hightech Information Systems (HIS) has introduced its HD 7970 X 3GB graphics card featuring the GHz chipset. The GPU is therefore clocked at 1GHz, with the 3GB GDDR5 memory at 6GHz (effective). Being an ‘X’ card, it contains “special ‘X’ features” such as “IceQ X2, iTurbo, PowerTune with Boost, OC equipment and more”.

The cooler uses twin large fans, which HIS claims makes the card run cooler than the reference design while keeping the noise level to a rather quiet 28dB when watching movies or in general desktop use. The card is also ‘quiet’ while gaming, although they don’t give a noise figure.

Finally, the card includes ‘X’ elements such as 18+1+1 PWM phases and LED indicators which together with the GHz edition GPU, should make for better overclocking, too. In fact, this card has won several overclocking records, which HIS are keen to point out. Overall, this looks like a great non-reference version of AMD’s HD 7970 top end single GPU graphics card. Detailed information (including overclocking) specifications and more pictures are available at the link below.

The card is has better OC capability with overclocking equipment and longer life span with safety design. The special metal RIB on the card further strengthens the card significantly!

HIS 7970 X comes in a great value with the bundled the Eyefinity Dongle the Active Mini DisplayPort to SL-DVI Dongle.
