Halo 4 DLC Causing Permanent Matchmaking Bans?

There appears to be an odd glitch with the Halo 4 Crimson Map Pack DLC. Users installing this content have found to their cost that they have been banned from certain parts of the game’s online play.
“A moderator for 343 Industries said last night on the Halo Waypoint forums: “We are not permanently banning players for previewing or purchasing the Crimson Map Pack. We are currently investigating the recent reports of permanent matchmaking bans.
“We will provide further updates tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.”
The obvious thing to do at the moment then is to not install this DLC and hopefully these unfair bans will be lifted soon.
