Google Video Deletion Date Eliminated

Google sent out an email to all users of Google Video last week letting them know that the service was closing and all videos on the service would be deleted on 29th April 2011. Google enabled the ability for users to download their videos to save content from the site, but if you hadn’t grabbed your videos before the 29th they’d have been deleted forever.

After listening to feedback from their users, Google have now decided to abandon the deletion deadline and migrate all of the Google Videos to YouTube. The process will be automated in the near future, but the option to manually migrate your videos across is available to users now.

Google Video users can rest assured that they won’t be losing any of their content and we are eliminating the April 29 deadline. We will be working to automatically migrate your Google Videos to YouTube. In the meantime, your videos hosted on Google Video will remain accessible on the web and existing links to Google Videos will remain accessible.
