Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC Edition Video Card Review
Power Consumption
For testing power consumption, we took our test system and plugged it into a Kill-A-Watt power meter. For idle numbers, we allowed the system to idle on the desktop for 15 minutes and took the reading. For load numbers we measured the peak wattage used by the system while running The Aliens vs. Predator video game at a resolution of 1920×1080..
Power Consumption Results: Although the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC had the lowest idle power consumption of the cards tested at 110 Watts it wasn’t the most efficient under full load. The ASUS Radeon HD 6870 video card uses 20 Watts less at full load and just happened to perform better in the AvP benchmark test that we ran. The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC video card peaked at 292 Watts, which was slightly less than the even higher clocked EVGA card that uses higher voltages to reach the larger overclock.
