Gigabyte GeForce GTX 470 Super Overclock Edition Video Card Review
Aliens Vs. Predator Benchmark v1.03
Aliens vs Predator is an entirely new title for PC and high-definition consoles from acclaimed British developer Rebellion, the team behind the 1999 original PC gaming classic. Bringing the most intense war between two of science-fictions most popular characters FPS fans, AvP delivers three outstanding single player campaigns and provides untold hours of unique 3-way multiplayer gaming. Experience distinctly new and thrilling first person gameplay as you survive, hunt and prey in the deadly jungles and swamps surrounding the damned colony of Freyas Prospect. Aliens vs Predator D3D11 Benchmark v1.03 is a standalone benchmark test based upon Rebellion’s 2010 inter-species shooter Aliens vs. Predator. The test shows xenomorph-tastic scenes using heavy tessellation among other DX11 features. The benchmarks independent GUI was used for testing shown below.
We cranked up all the image quality settings in the benchmark to the highest level possible, so we were running 4x AA and 16x AF with SSAO enabled at both 1920×1200 and 1280×1024 on all the video cards.
Benchmark Results: The GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 470 Super Overclock Edition graphics card takes the top spot away from the HIS Radeon HD 5870 when the EVGA GeForce GTX 470 Hydro Copper FTW could not. Our champion in the Aliens Vs. Predator benchmark was 2.4% faster at 1920×1080 than the runner up and 3.6% faster than the EVGA counterpart at that same resolution.
