Test System

Today we used our AMD AM2+ platform with Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate x64 with SP1 installed. For both the IGP and GPU testing we used the latest Catalyst 9.2 drivers from AMD. For stock testing the memory was run at 800MHz CAS4 in unganged dual channel mode, while for overclocking the memory was run at 667MHz CAS5 in unganged dual channel mode. All benchmarks and games were patched with the latest public patches.

For the extreme overclocking, liquid nitrogen was the coolant of choice. The liquid nitrogen cooling was performed with a K|ngp|n F1EE LN2 pot with a full pot of nitrogen and base temps around -192 Celsius. The insulation used was a combination of plasticine modeling clay and Armaflex insulation sheets.
