GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD7 Motherboard Review
SiSoftware Sandra 2011 SP5 Memory Bandwidth
The Sisoft Sandra 2011 SP5 benchmark utility just came out a few weeks
ago and we have started to include it in our benchmarking. Sandra 2011 comes with
support for Virtualisation (Virtual PC/Server, Hyper-V, VMware) and
GPGPU (OpenCL, DirectX 11 DirectCompute), but today we will be using the
program to look at memory and CPU performance!
Results: The GIGABYTE 990FXA-UD7 fell just short of the ASUS Crosshair V Formula in terms of memory bandwidth. The Float B/F SSE2/128 memory bandwidth of the GIGABYTE 990FXA-UD7 was 17.248GB/s while the ASUS Crosshair V Formula hit 17.547GB/s. Granted this is a difference of only 1.7% and wouldn’t be noticeable in day to day usage, but worth pointing out nevertheless. The Integer B/F SSE2/128 memory bandwidth of the GIGABYTE 990FXA-UD7 fell just short of the 17GB/s line with a final score of 16.979GB/s while the ASUS counterpart was sitting pretty at 17.523GB/s, a difference of 3.2%.
