Krypton Mouse Overview

The Krypton mouse follows a pretty well standard layout that we have seen with other mice, not that this is a bad thing. It will just make getting used to or adjusted to this mouse a lot easier for us. The mouse wheel, and the normal right and left click buttons are right where they are supposed to be at, the DPI adjustment sits directly behind the mouse wheel, and then looking at the side of the mouse we have two programmable thumb buttons, and the lower bottom button is for on the fly left/right hand switching, and for on the fly profile switching.

Turning the mouse over to the left hand side, we can see that Gigabyte followed the same exact layout as the left side of the mouse.

Looking at the Krypton mouse from the front, the Krypton mouse wheel uses a rubber coating on it to keep our fingers from slipping off of it during times of its use.

Looking at the base of the Krypton mouse, now Gigabyte ships the Krypton mouse with the Teflon feet base. As we can see that these Teflon base mouse feet are fairly large in size, will this make a difference in our gaming, considering that other mice I have used utilize smaller Teflon feet?

To remove the bottom chassis all we need to do is gently grab the backside of the mouses bottom and pull away from the mouse.

Once we removed the lower chassis, we can see where all of the included weights of this mouse will be placed. Also I should mention that the weight holder is made from a rubber compound to keep the weights securely in place, and we can use all of the included weights in this mouse.

A better look at the included weights of the Krypton mouse; we will get 6 x 5.2g weights, and 4 1.8g weights, for a grand total of 39g of weight.

This is how we would use the weight removal tool, it grabs ahold of the included weights at the little notch that is built directly into them.

Just me demonstrating that you can actually use all of the weights and place them however you want on the inside of this mouse. You do not need to use all of them, you can use just one or a few, in any combination or configuration that bests suits your specific needs.

This is what the included speed chassis looks like, the little shiny ceramic skates (or what appears to be little buttons) are extremely shiny, and I almost thought these were made out of a metal not ceramic.

Gigabyte uses a cloth-like wrapping over the main USB cord of the mouse.

The USB connector is gold plated to keep corrosion to a minimum on this connector.

To switch the Krypton mouse from left handed operation to right handed operation on the fly, all we need to do is squeeze the two Profile buttons, located located towards the front lower of the mouse, in for a few seconds and the Krypton mouse will automatically switch, without the need of us having to enter the OS or use a program to do the switching for us.

The LEDs that are located along side of the adjustable DPI switch are to notify us what DPI setting we are currently using; these steps are programmed using Gigabytes Ghost software. Also the profile switching buttons also light up, we can program various colors with the Ghost software, to represent what profile we are currently using at that time
