Fortnite Heavy Sniper Rifle Confirmed by Epic

Fortnite gamers who have been wishing for a better sniper rifle to reach out and touch someone from a long distance will appreciate this. Epic Games has confirmed that a new heavy sniper rifle is coming. The confirmation was made via the New Updates splash page that players see when logging in reports Dexerto.

The heavy sniper will be offered in Epic and Legendary versions. According to Epic the rifle will do high damage to structures. It’s not clear if it will be able to hurt players that are hiding behind the walls you are shooting.

What we do know about the weapon damage is that it takes a long time to reload. This means that while leaked video has shown it can take out a metal wall with a single shot, the reload time is four seconds. While we have no exact launch time we do know that when the drum gun landed on the New Updates page it was available a couple days later.

This likely means that the heavy sniper rifle will land in a couple days. I’m no weapons expert, but the heavy sniper appears to be based on the looks of a Barrett .50 cal sniper rifle.
