Fortnite Gets In-Game tournament Feature

A new patch will land for Fortnite today and the patch will bring with it a new feature- in-game tournaments. The first tournaments will start today. Tournament mode supports skill-based matchmaking enabling a balanced playing field report VGR.

This is good news for new to the game players as it means that one, very good player wont hog all the rewards during the tournament. The patch bringing the new tournaments is v6.10 and some expect the skills-based matchmaking to come to all game modes.

Some players of the game have been vocal about their disdain for skill-based matchmaking, they do after all want to dominate noobs to earn rewards. Epic Games wants Fortnite to be more competitive giving more players access to its gigantic pool of $100 million in prizes available for the season.

The goal is to balance the game and make it fun for everyone. If new players get killed quickly every time they spawn into a game, they lose interest and the game can stop growing.
