Ex-Tyco execs sentenced to up to 25 yrs

Dennis Kozlowski, the former Tyco International Ltd. chief executive is going to jail. This once agains shows that stealing money is not a wise thing to do unless you like to sport handcuffs.

Dennis Kozlowski, the former Tyco International Ltd. chief executive, and the company’s former chief financial officer, Mark Swartz, who were both found guilty of stealing more than $150 million from the company, were sentenced on Monday to up to 25 years in prison. The sentence was handed down by Judge Michael Obus, who presided over the pair’s larceny and conspiracy trial in Manhattan Supreme Court. The two former executives were also ordered to pay total restitution of $134 million and were taken from the court in handcuffs.
