EVGA Announces Two NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 Video Cards

EVGA has launched a pair of GeForce GT 640 graphics card that were designed for to deliver a premium multimedia performance and reliable entry-level gaming. The EVGA GeForce GT 640 video cards both feature the GK107 GPU with 384 CUDA Cores clocked at 901MHz with 2GB of DDR3 memory on a 128-bit bus at 1782MHz. This configuration is good for 28.5 GB/s of memory bandwidth and a texture fill rate of 28.8 GT/s. Since both cards feature the specifications they had to do something do differentiate the cards, so they have different GPU Coolers. The EVGA GeForce GT 640 Single Slot card is available under part number 02G-P4-2645-KR for $109.99. The EVGA GeForce GT 640 Dual Slot card is available under part number 02G-P4-2643-KR for $109.99. Since both cards are the same price the choice of which version to get is up to you! EVGA recommends a 350 Watt or greater power supply with a +12V current rating of at lease 20 Amps to properly run one of these entry level cards.
