Europe Getting Motorola XOOM Honeycomb 3.1 Update That Enables MicroSD Card Slot
Motorola rolled out the Honeycomb 3.1 update in the United States a couple weeks ago, but the update failed to enable the functionality of the MicroSD card that has yet to work. Motorola Europe announced yesterday on their Facebook page that the 3.1 update for Europe has started and that the non-U.S. devices will have SD card activation. I’m not sure why Motorola isn’t activating the MicroSD card slot on all of the systems at the same time, but this is how they are handling it. The whole MicroSD slot snafu and how Motorola is handling it has been very strange since the start!
The 3.1 update for Motorola XOOM outside the U.S. has started. Owners in Europe can expect updates over the next several weeks until the roll out is complete. The 3.1 update for non-U.S. devices, in addition to many other improvements, also includes SD card activation. Release notes will be made available in each region, functionality varies by region.
