Emachines A64 notebooks discontinued

“ With no fanfair, EMachines/Gateway have discontinued the M6xxx series of Athlon 64 Notebooks, as can be seen on their website.

Oddly enough, the frontpage of Emachines’ website still displays the A64 logo, even though none of the offered models contain A64s. ‘New’ Gateway A64 model notebooks have been appearing in the last two months, such as the 74xx series carried by Best Buy and others. They seem to be the same machines as the M68xx series, but with Gateway logos and a full-silver backing behind the LCD.

The best part of this whole scenario is that Gateway isn’t even acknowledging the existence of these machines on their website. Affordable and powerful A64 notebooks just got harder to find. “
