EA Slashes Prices on Star Wars Battlefront II Characters
EA stepped in a big steaming pile with its new Star Wars Battlefront II game. Players were not at all happy that the price to unlock some of the iconic characters in the game was so high. After widespread criticism and flaming on Reddit, EA has announced a major cost reduction for iconic characters in the game.
The price of the heroes is now down by 75% making it much faster to unlock those characters. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader were originally 60,000 in-game credits to unlock and have been reduced to 15,000 credits. Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, and Leia Organa have now seen the price cut to 10,000 credits.
Iden Versio, the protagonist of the game will now cost only 5,000 credits to unlock. The massive price cut came before the game even launched. Some estimates had figures the top end characters that were originally 60,000 credits would take gamers up to 40 hours to unlock reports Kotaku.
The game launches on PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on November 17. Players who pre-ordered the game can play tomorrow. EA said of the unlock changes, “Its a big change, and its one we can make quickly. It will be live today, with an update that is getting loaded into the game.”
