DivX Launches New Internet TV Platform

DivX supported devices will range from Digital TV’s, Gaming Consoles, Blu-Ray players, mobile phones and more. LG Electronics announced that they would be the first manufacturer to license the DivX TV platform on upcoming Blu-Ray players and home theater systems.
DivX has announced the launch of DivX TV, billed as a comprehensive embedded Internet TV platform that provides access to a line-up of online media content streamed directly to any connected device from any manufacturer. The new service from DivX, best known for a popular film file format, will eliminate the need for a computer or a separate, dedicated box under the TV insists the company.
