It looks like DDR2 memory prices jumped over thirty cents over the Chinese New Year. This is a 6% increase in pricing and may impact the pricing on economy memory lines from many big companies very soon.
The spot price of 512Mbit DDR2-533 is expected to edge up to the US$5.5 level, up from US$5.17 amid rising demand after a period of inventory clearing after the Chinese New Year, according to memory maker Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC).
