DDR2 contract prices soar in 1H February

Contract prices for mainstream DRAMs shot up in the first half of February, with DDR2 pricing rocketing up 18% from the second half of January. We told you this months ago!
DRAMeXchange observed that DRAM makers successfully raised DDR2 memory module prices by more than 16%, with some makers even raising prices by over 23% to second-tier PC OEMs. Hynix raised its quotes 5-10% while Samsung, which did not disclose the price increase, stated that its price hike was ?significant?, according to company officials as cited by a recent Bloomberg report.
