Darwin Project Goes Free to Play
Another Battle Royale game is available for fans of the genre to enjoy. This game is called Darwin Project and before the last week, it was a game you had to buy to play. PCGamer reports that the game went free to play in an effort to boost player numbers and cut down on the time it takes to queue for a round.
“Lately, members of our community have reported longer queue times and difficulty finding matches in lesser populated servers,” said creative director Simon Darveau. “To bring in new players and maintain a level of activity that ensures players are able to get the most out of Darwin Project, weve decided to make it more accessible by removing the price tag.”
If you purchased the game for the $15 asking price previously, the developer is trying to make the move to a free game more palatable for you. Free in-game cosmetics will be added to your inventory to make up for the money spend. These paying players get two legendary sets, three legendary axes, three legendary bows, a full jumpsuit collection, and five fan gifts.
The devs promise that while the game is now free to play, they will never sell items that give a competitive edge to players. This game is unique because each round has a “show director” that can talk to all ten participants and do things like close sections of the map and drop nuclear bombs.
