D-Link DIR-880L: Speed Tests – Far Room

We then moved our laptop and wireless bridge down stairs to the far corner of the house. The run was more than 40 feet across and through a carpeted floor. We again ran LAN Speed Test (LST) with data packet sizes of 1MB and 100MB. LST again gave us measurements of Average Read and Write speeds which are plotted below.

Benchmark Results: When we moved to the farthest room for our wireless test, the Average Read speeds for the D-Link DIR-880L dropped off only slightly compared to the DIR-868L and competitors. The DIR-880Ls Average Write Speed measurement is still perplexing, however

Benchmark Results: Evaluating larger data packets shows us what we have seen all throughout our testing: Depending on the content you are transferring, the D-Link DIR-880L is hit or miss when it comes to wireless-AC speeds.
