Along with the move to a new platform, we decided to make a change in one of the benchmarks. There’s a relatively new benchmark called Anvil Storage Utilities that is in beta but close to production. It’s a very powerful tool that measures performance through a variety of tests which can be customized.

Benchmark Results: The benchmark results from the most recent build of Anvil SSD Benchmark showed that with 100% compression (incompressible data) that the Crucial P2 250GB drive scored 5,938 points and the 500GB drive reached 8,800 points.

The Crucial P2 250GB and P2 500GB overall scores are the lowest of any of the 12+ NVMe drives that we have tested on this particular test system. As low-capacity, entry-level drives… This is where we expected the P2 to end up.
