Memory Performance Testing

Sisoft; Sandra 2007 SP1:

Sisoft Sandra 2007 SP1 is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system and individual components. The numbers taken though are, again, purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance. Higher numbers represent better performance in memory bandwidth. The chart was based off averaged results of the buffered and unbuffered bandwidth scores.

Results: When it came to unbuffered bandwidth testing the Corsair PC2-8888 at it’s rated speed of 1111Mhz easily took the lead. Running with memory clock value at 200MHz (554MHz memory speed) we say the scores drop by nearly half, which makes sense as the frequency was about half.

Everest Ultimate Edition 2006:

Everst Ultimate Edition is a professional system information, diagnostics and benchmarking program for Win32 platforms. It extracts details of all components of the PC. It also tests the actual read and write speeds of your memory giving a fairly accurate look of true memory performance.

Results: Everest Ultimate 2006 showed major differences in every test except for the write test were there was no significant difference observed. In the new ‘COPY’ test the faster the modules were run the better they performed. It looks like AMD processors can handle all the memory bandwidth you can throw at them!
