Corsair Updates RGB Keyboard Software and Firmware
Corsair sent us word yesterday that the Corsair Utility Engine was updated to Version 1.1.56 that brings a number of bugfixes to the release version. All Corsair RGB keyboards and the M65 RGB are covered by this update and require a firmware update to 1.13 that is prompted by Corsair Utility Engine. We downloaded the new version and installed it without uninstalling the old version without problems apparently as we were still able to use all our old RGB profiles and settings. One of major changes in the update was fixes to error messages that can be seen on the software demonstration page in our K70 RGB review which was using the old release version.
Corsair Utility Engine (CUE) Release Notes For Version 1.1.56
This is an updated release of the Corsair Utility Engine that fixes a number of bugs. These include:
- Several bugs resulting in “Device Malfunction” errors
- Text Action copy/paste behavior
- Key Lock behavior
- Sleep/wake behavior
The new update already has a minor, but inconvenient documented problem with international keyboards that is listed in the Release Notes which can be found with the updated software download.
If you have an international K70 RGB keyboard that had been updated to FW 1.12, and even after installing this software and firmware 1.13 it is exhibiting the behavior that one or two keys are not lit and dont function properly, please see the document that accompanies this one in the software release zip file (Intl K70 RGB Restore Instructions.doc) for instructions on how to restore the keyboard.
