Corsair SP2200 2.1 PC Speaker Review
Introduction – Corsair & PC Speakers
Unlike some of Corsair’s other market expansions in the PC DIY market, “Gaming Audio” is brand new to them with products like the SP2500‘s earning our coveted “Editor’s Choice” award and headphones like the HS1 & HS1A each being worthy contenders in the “Gaming Audio” sector of headsets. Today we’re gonna look at the Corsair Gaming Audio Series SP2200 2.1 PC Speaker System which is designed to be the best 2.1 setup for the price on the market and even compete against similarly priced 5.1 systems by delivering a better experience with more accurate sound reproduction.
The SP2200 system from Corsair comes in at $84.99 Shipped from Newegg at the time of writing with a 2 year warranty. The warranty is the most tangible difference that Corsair is bringing to the PC Speaker Market, as most speakers only have a 1 year warranty.
Needless to say; Corsair has high expectations today. Let’s see how they do.
The box for the Corsair SP2200’s follows suit with most of their products and is rather basic, giving you a few overview sections of features and specs while just showing the product.
Inside the box you get a power brick and cable along with a 3.5mm male-to-male cable to connect the speakers to an MP3 player. You also get some standard RCA Jacks to connect the speakers to a TV or other home entertainment setup.
The power adapter is the kind you’ll find with most monitors or other device, it’s basic with no LEDs. A positive note is that even with the speakers turned all the way up and blaring music, it does not get hot to the touch which means the brick being used is most likely an efficient design.
Here our your spare cables that you get. These are for connecting the system to a TV or to a MP3 Player.
