Corsair Professional Series HX850 Power Supply Review
Unboxing the HX850 power supply
We received the HX850 supplied
inside the large cardboard box Corsair has us used to whenever a high performance power supply arrives. Inside the box everything
is very neatly packed and well protected. Artistically, Corsair went with a
dark theme focused on a close-up picture of the unit itself.
Unlike the dark front of the
package, the rear side is all-white and littered with detailed information on
the unit’s features and specifications, in no less than seven languages.
The bundle of the HX850 is adequate
but it could certainly have been better. Whoever buys this unit will receive a standard
A/C power cable and black mounting screws, a few small black cable ties, a case
sticker and a basic black and white manual. There is also a nylon bag which
holds the modular cables of the unit. The Molex, Floppy and SATA cables are
all-black, flat cables; on the other hand, the PCIe cables are sleeved but
Corsair still used all-black cables beneath the sleeving, which definitely
looks much better. We would love to see some quality cable straps included with
such a power supply.
