Corsair HS1A Gaming Headset (CA-HS1ANA) is a very well built, sturdy headset that is very comfortable to wear for hours. The larger 50mm drivers really help pump in the extra audio that is needed to immerse yourself into the games you love to play and movies you love to watch. The Corsair HS1A Gaming Headset (CA-HS1ANA) easily hooked up to my onboard Realtek ALC889 audio and was able to use the 7.1 surround sound setting in my on board audio software to give my games and movies a bit more depth. While I did find that the Corsair HS1A Gaming Headset (CA-HS1ANA) tended to lean toward the treble side of the audio scale, I do have to admit that the higher pitched sounds did give my in game sounds a lot more separation than a headset that pumps a lot of bass into the drivers. That added separation made it very easy for me to hear where my enemies were and how close or far away they were.

One of the first things that stood out for me was the comfort of the Corsair HS1A Gaming Headset (CA-HS1ANA). This headset definitely has the comfort of a more expensive headset, and at $77.54 shipped, this headset is by no means over priced, especially since it comes with a full two year warranty and you get to choose between micro fiber or faux leather ear cup pads. I reviewed a lot of very expensive headsets that were way over priced and not much better than the Corsair HS1A Gaming Headset (CA-HS1ANA). The only place where the Corsair HS1A Gaming Headset (CA-HS1ANA) didn’t really shine was in its playback of music. No matter how high I turned up the bass on my EQ it just wasn’t enough to get rid of the piercing highs and mids that are produced from this headset. Listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers actually gave me a headache because of the sound of Flea’s bass not sounding like it should. But other than that one little flaw this headset stood up to the high quality that we have all come to admire and expect from a company like Corsair.

The Legit Bottom Line: For $77.54 you definitely get your money’s worth and more with the Corsair HS1A Gaming Headset (CA-HS1ANA). It is a great headset for movies and gaming. Even though it lacked a little in the music playback department in my opinion, it’s a gaming headset and that’s what it was made for. Games.
