Corsair AX 1200W 90 Plus Gold PSU
Corsair was also showing off their Professional Series Gold power supplies at Computex 2010. The line will have 750W, 850W and a 1200W power supply that are all 80% Plus gold certified, which means they are all over 90% efficient. We looked at the retail box of the AX1200 and noticed that it peaked at being 93% efficient, which is impressive for a 1200W power supply that is fully modular.
The power supply is fully modular, which is rather rare in the PSU market as only a small number of companies have released a power supply like this. It’s rather neat seeing all those modular plug-ins on the back of the power supply!
Internally Corsair is using all industrial grade components and the layout looked rather clean and nice.
The Corsair AX1200 had five small heatsinks on the inside that are kept cool by the 140mm fan above.
Lots of daughter boards are used inside the AX1200 as six can be seen in the photo above.
The bag of modular cables that comes with the power supply is nearly as large as the power supply itself! Corsair looks like they have included every cable known to man with this power supply! They said it can easily run motherboards like the EVGA SR-2 that is known to have some interesting power cable requirements.
The AX1200 uses a 140mm Yate Loon fan with the part number D14BH-12 and the ones that we saw running were rather quiet when under load. These look like great power supplies and we will be sure to bring you more coverage on them in the weeks to come.
While we would love to spend more time on some of the other Corsair products that they showed off we have a ton of other companies to go meet! Check back for more Computex 2010 coverage often this week as we’ll be posting up articles like this as fast as we can get it out the door.
