Corsair Gaming M65 RGB Gaming Mouse Review
Final Thoughts and Conclusion
Overall, the Corsair Gaming M65 RGB was pleasing to use, though we noticed that this mouse has its own ergonomic character that won’t be fully appreciated by everyone. First, the M65’s steep and tall curving shape makes it most ideal for the claw grip. Second, it’s quite large and gamers who like to hold their mice around the edge or prefer skinnier mice will have to adapt to the M65’s chunky shape. Lastly, it’s heavy and users accustomed to lightweight mice may find the mass and the associated inertia unwanted. The adjustable weighting system can help users fine tune the mass while they adapt, but the aluminum construction still packs heft in one’s hand.
The new feature to be introduced with the M65 RGB is the multicolor lighting. The main light is bright, able to both spill out from under the tail end and shine through the ostentatious Corsair Gaming logo even against ambient lighting. The Corsair Unity Engine software is used to customize the lighting, but it’s difficult to figure out immediately since most of us don’t usually work colors on three axes: time, brightness, and color. However, it is much easier to manage a single light than the 100+ lights and their near endless possibilities on the Corsair RGB keyboards. We hope improvements are on the way given the numerous user demands for the software’s developers to release a more streamlined and intuitive interface.
Corsair designed the original M60 to be used for FPS gaming and likewise, the M65 RGB won’t always be comfortable to use since the hand can’t easily be rested on the top of the mouse. It’s also larger and heavier than the more typical claw grip mouse so potential buyers have to realize their preferences or dial in with the M65 RGB over time. If you’ve done your homework properly while looking for a gaming mouse to use on nights and weekend and you’ve settled on the M65 RGB, it’s not going to be bad choice. This is one very solid mouse that feels very durable that can handle your worst, or best whatever it may be. The M65 RGB is not cheap for a mouse costing $69.99 shipped on Amazon, but it’s not going to come up short either.
Legit Bottom Line: The Corsair Gaming M65 RGB continues to be a solid gaming mouse on many fronts, now with RGB lighting for added value.
