Corsair Force Series MP600 M.2 SSDs – Phison E16 Offers Up To 4,950 MB/s Speeds
Corsair has shown they are ready for AMD’s upcoming X570 platform and third gen Ryzen desktop processors by announcing the Force Series MP600 M.2 SSDs. The new Force Series MP600 M.2 SSDs will become available in July along with the launch of AMD’s platform. They might look like normal M.2 2280 ‘gumstick’ drives, but they are using the PCIe Gen4 interface.
One of the most striking features of Corsair’s Force Series MP600 M.2 SSDs is the large black finned heatsink, and we can only see the M.2 connector popping out. This drive is clearly aimed at desktop users as you won’t be able to fit that into a laptop. It is also a sign that doubling the bandwidth (from PCIe Gen3 to PCIe Gen4) is going to raise temperatures as well. When it comes to actual performance the Corsair MP600 series is capable of speeds up to 4,950 MB/s sequential read and up to 4,250 MB/s sequential write.
“With the MP600, AMD X570 motherboard owners will be able to experience the benefits of PCIe 4.0 immediately, with the fastest Corsair SSD yet at the center of their system.” – Andy Paul, CEO of Corsair
Corsair went with the Phison PS5016-E16 controller paired with 3D TLC NAND Flash memory for the MP600 series. The MP600 series is backed by a 5-year warranty and pricing will be made public when the drives launch in July 2019.
