Corsair Force LX 256GB SSD Review
CrystalDiskMark 3.0.3
CrystalDiskMark is another well known benchmark used by the hardware vendors. It provides a quick analysis of the hardware, providing Read and Write speeds for Sequential, 512K Random, 4K Random and 4K NCQ with Queue Depth of 32. CrystalDiskMark will also run these tests 5 times so we can get a good reading.
For this test, the Corsair Force LX still did pretty good, coming in just a bit less on the Sequential Read test than they stated, however the Write test still matches their stated performance numbers.
Sequential Read and Write, the Corsair Force LX performed rather well. Surpassing the Read speed of the other three SSD’s. The write speed is interesting, while it received exactly what we expected, the Intel 520 did not come close to expectation, this is a great example why we run different benchmarks, something within CrystalDiskMark does not like the Intel 520 drive, but is fine with the others.
For the 4K Random test, the Read speed was fairly close to the Intel and OCZ drive, but was about 10MB/s behind the Samsung EVO. While the 4K Random write test, it was on par with the Intel and Samsung, but behind the OCZ drive by about 10MB/s.
Benchmark Results: While the Sequential Read speed was a little lower than we expected, it still performs rather well. The Sequential Write test was exactly what we expected.
