Corsair Announces SPEC-OMEGA Tempered Glass Case

The Latest ATX Case From Corsair Offers Tempered Glass and RGB Lighting

Corsair introduced a new case to their award-winning lineup at CES 2018 and the new Carbide Series SPEC-OMEGA looks to hit all of the important marks for system builders. The unique, asymmetrical design of the Corsair SPEC-OMEGA sees the case outfitted with a tempered glass side panel, while a portion of the front panel is covered by an angled piece of tempered glass that gives view to the fans beneath for a great visual experience. To give users the exact chassis they need to color coordinate their build, the SPEC-OMEGA will be available in black, red and white. Corsair is never one to be shy when it comes to RGB lighting and the SPEC-OMEGA is outfitted with a controllable internal RGB LED strip, in addition to featuring a dynamic LED lighting strip that goes across the entire front exterior of the case in an angle. Corsair is including two SP120 fans with the SPEC-OMEGA to keep things cool and the case features 360MM and 280MM radiator capability, meaning it can be used with the new Corsair H150i Pro and H115i Pro AIO coolers.

The Corsair SPEC-OMEGA definitely has a unique look that will let it stand out among the more tame offerings on the market. I really like how Corsair is using tempered glass here, with a really cleverly designed front panel that should allow for some beautiful lighting effects from the fans beneath. Unfortunately, Corsair isn’t including their LL fans as seen in the picture, this is just a demonstration of what the case will look like when outfitted with RGB fans. Corsair has included a mesh area on the lower front panel of the SPEC-OMEGA to allow for proper airflow, though the closed nature of the rest of the front panel will be more restrictive than a case with an open mesh front, but there are obvious trade-offs to consider.
