Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 1500W PSU Review
Unboxing the power supply
Cooler
Master supplies the Silent Pro M2 in a white cardboard box, not unnaturally
large for the packaging of a high output power supply. The artwork on the front
side of the box is fancy, with blue lighting and abstract shapes being formed
behind the logo of the series.
The white
rear of the box houses two charts, one for the efficiency and one for the fan
speed against the load, plus a short list of the units most important features
in several languages.
The list of
the items bundled with the Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 1500W unit is very, very
short. The purchaser of this power supply will only receive the necessary A/C
power cable, four black mounting screws, a warranty card, a basic manual and
the modular cables of the unit. Make sure not to lose the supplied A/C power
cable or not to buy a unit from a region different than yours, as this power
supply does not use a typical C14 IEC cable but a C20 instead and finding a
replacement could prove to be a challenge. Unfortunately, there are no cable
straps or other extra items, not even simple cable ties.
The modular
cables supplied with the Silent Pro M2 1500W unit are all-black, flat type cables.
Unlike other manufacturers, this includes the PCI Express and CPU 4+4 pin
cables as well; unfortunately however, those hardwired on the unit are typical
cables, colored and sleeved.
