Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 1500W PSU Introduction
Nowadays, consumer computer power supplies come in all shapes and sizes, from Pico-ATX
units capable of delivering only a few watts and up to extended-ATX units with
an output of over 1kW. Today we are having a look at one of the most powerful
power supplies currently available for ATX-compliant systems, the Cooler Master
Silent Pro M2 1500W. Being the largest unit Cooler Master offers at this point
of time, this behemoth was obviously not designed with the average user in mind
and, strange as this may be, it is not the most powerful unit currently
available in the retail market either.
The Silent
Pro M2 series is the longest and most popular series of Cooler Master, with
units ranging from 420W and up to 1500W. As the name suggests, the series is
marketed towards enthusiasts and professionals who seek a modular unit capable
of silent operation. On the other hand, this is one of the most expensive units
on the market, currently retailing for $365.12 shipped. We are here today to see if
enthusiasts and or professionals who actually require this kind of power can
also look to Cooler Master for a low noise, high performance product.

As we just mentioned, Cooler Master has seven Silent Pro M2 power supply models listed as being available, but we could only find three models for sale in North America. Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 series power supplies came out in June 2012, so you would think that after three months more would be available, but that is not the situation that we have today. In North America the CM Silent Pro M2 620W, 720W and 1500W models are the only models widely available.
