Cooler Master Silencio 652S Mid Tower Chassis Review
Cooler Master Silencio 652S Interior Features
Kind of like opening presents on Christmas morning, it’s always exciting to see what the inside of a new PC chassis is going to look like and see what it can do. The Cooler Master Silencio 652S is certainly going to allow plenty of room to work when installing the hardware into it. Despite not having a window on the side panel to show off the hardware and the look of the system inside. The Silencio 652S is nice and clean looking on the inside with plenty of ability to route the wires.
The 5.25″ drive bays in the Cooler Master Silencio 652S are tool-less. Just below the 5.25″ drive bays there is room for four 2.5″ drives. The Cooler Master Silencio 652S will support up to ten 2.5″ drivessd throughout the system . Four of them in the four drive bays seen here, as well as one at the bottom of the optical drive bay.
The 3.5″ drive bays will support either 3.5″ hard drives, or an additional three 2.5″ drives. To the left of the hard drive cages you can see a spot to mount an additional HDD or SSD.
Each of the seven expansion slots on the Cooler Master Silencio 652S is held down with a thumb screw, making card changes incredibly easy to do. The power supply will rest on four rubber pads, this helps to minimize any noise from vibration, as well as protecting the finish on the power supply.
The Cooler Master Silencio 652S has a cutout in the motherboard tray that measures 5.625″ x 5.625″. This makes it easy to change out the CPU cooler since the motherboard doesn’t need to be removed to take off the back plate. The fan on the back is a 120mm Silencio fan that’s rated for 38CFM at only 111 dBA at 1200200 RPM. Just to the south of the exhaust fan is a couple of pass through ports with rubber grommets, these can be used for anything from water cooling lines, to just about anything you can think of.
The top of the Cooler Master Silencio 652S is designed to fit up to a 200mm fan, or a dual 140mm radiator.
The wiring that comes with the Cooler Master Silencio 652S is pretty much what I would expect. There is the header for the SuperSpeed USB 3.0, USB 2.0, power/reset switches, LED’s, and the HD Audio.
The Cooler Master Silencio 652S uses the same drive trays for the 2.5″ SSD’s and the 3.5″ HDD’s. The tray can close tighter to fit the 2.5″ drives, or it can expand to fit the 3.5″ drives.
