Computex 2012: MSI Unveils New Intel & AMD Motherboards with A85 chipset

By

Today at Computex MSI (Micro Star International) unveiled several new products that will certainly be making a mark in the computer world. If you’re a fan of AMD and their APU (Accelerated Processing Units) be on the look out in the near future. MSI is showing off a couple of their latest AMD A85 Socket FM2 motherboards at Computex 2012. These aren’t the first AMD A85 motherboards we have seen, if this is any indicator I would expect that we will be seeing the new AMD Trinity APU’s in the near future.

MSI A85XA-G65 Socket FM2 APU Motherboard
The MSI A85XA-G65 is based on the latest AMD A85 Chipset which will support the next generation of AMD Trinity APU’s. The AMD A85 chipset adds a feature that was lacking in the original A75 chipset, support for NVIDIA SLI! The MSI A85XA-G65 will support 2-way SLI

Of course we also have the features like MSI OC Genie II, ClickBIOS II, and Military Class III components. If the MSI A85XA-G65 Socket FM2 motherboard follows the pattern from MSI, we should have a very strong motherboard on our hands (once we get one of course).
MSI Z77IA-E53 Intel Z77 Micro ITX Motherboard
Small form factor computers have come along way in the past few years, or at least have become more popular. If you can get the same amount of computing power out of a smaller foot print, why not. The MSI Z77IA-E53 is an Intel Z77 motherboard with the small foot print of an mITX motherboard. Sure we miss out on a couple features such as AMD CrossFireX and NVIDIA SLI, but that’s about it. The MSI Z77IA-E53 still has many of the key MSI features like OC Genie II, ClickBIOS II, PCIe Gen 3, and integrated Blue Tooth and WiFi!
MSI X79 Big Bang MPower LGA2011 Motherboard
MSI is also launching an entire new line of motherboards designed specifically for overclocking. The MSI MPower product stack will feature boards for both Intel Z77 and Intel X79 (above). The MPower isn’t limited to just the Big Bang series, it will also be available in the vanilla flavors like GD65 and such. One of the special features about the MPower motherboards is that the product warranty now specifically covers Basic Overclocking!
MSI GTX 680 Lightning
Motherboards aren’t the only thing that MSI is showing off at Computex. They have also pulled the cloak off of the MSI NVIDIA GTX 680 Lightning! We saw the MSI AMD Radeon HD 7970 Lightning giving the NVIDIA GTX 680 a solid run for the money when we looked at it, I’m excited to see what the GTX 680 Lightning has in store for us!
