Comcast Offers Extreme 105 Xfinity Internet Speed at $105 per Month

By

Comcast announced yesterday that its newest ultra-fast Xfinity Internet speed tier, Extreme 105, is now available to more than 40 million homes in major markets across the nation including San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Denver, Chicago, Miami, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and the majority of Boston, among others. The Extreme 105 Mbps service, which also offers up to 10 Mbps upload speeds, is available for new or existing customers at an introductory rate of $105 per month for 12 months as part of their Triple Play bundle. Extreme 105 is made possible through the use of DOCSIS 3.0 technology, so make sure you factor in the cost of a new cable modem (~$85 for a Motorola SB6120). While it sounds nice to have all that speed, it means that you are going to hit that download cap even faster! Comcast left the download cap alone, so you still have 250GB available per month at this price. With internet speeds reaching 105 Mbps it looks like it will be easier to reach these limits in the months to come.
