Club 3D Launches HD 7870 Eyefinity 6 Graphics Card

Club 3D has launched a new member of the AMD Radeon 7000-series cards called the HD 7870 Eyefinity 6. Model number: CGAX-7876M6. This upper midrange card has the special feature of six Mini DisplayPort 1.2 sockets only and offers a high 21.6Gb/s bandwidth to drive them all for an ultra high resolution of 4096×2160 pixels. The card is fitted with Club3D’s non-reference Cool Stream cooler and other vital stats include the Pitcairn GPU & memory at reference clocks, 2GB GDDR5 with a 256-bit interface. The card has support for EYEFINITY 2 which includes bezel compensation custom resolutions and the positioning of the Windows taskbar on any monitor. Also, it can output Digital Multipoint Audio (DDMA) by using a combination of DisplayPort and HDMI connectors.

The next step in audio output from a graphics card. Traditionally video cards has been able to output audio through the HDMI port and audio has been restricted to to a single device, be it a monitor, HDTV or a receiver. With DDMA now you can send audio to multiple devices via the DisplayPort combined with the HDMI. Imagine a video conferencing where each attendee is mapped to a monitor and with DDMA set on each monitor speaker set.
