CES 2012: Sapphire Launches Intel X79 Motherboard and Radeon 7970 Graphics Card

By

Sapphire Technology was another of the companies that we were fortunate enough to spend time with in Las Vegas NV at CES 2012. While we were at their suite at the MGM Grand we were able to get some hands on time with a few of their latest products. Among them were their Intel X79 motherboard, the PURE Black X79N (PB-CI7X79N). The PURE Black X79N (PB-CI7X79N) features support for AMD CrossFireX, SuperSpeed USB 3.0, and PCIe x16 Gen 3.0. We have played with the Sapphire Pure Black series in the past and found it to be a very solid motherboard. We have high hopes for the Sapphire PURE Black X79N Motherboard.

That wasn’t all that Sapphire had to show off, we also had the opportunity to check out the Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5. The base version of the Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 is simply the reference design.

I don’t doubt we will see a non-reference design Radeon HD 7970 or two from Sapphire in the time to come!
