Z77 boards seem to be popping up everywhere and MSI is joining in on the parade. Although they aren’t finished production versions and many details were kept mum, we were able to get the skinny on what you can expect sometime in Q2 although pricing remains a mystery. Expect the Z77-GD65 to be ~$30 less than that of the Z77-GD80 board.

MSI is showing their upcoming socket LGA1155 motherboards with Intel’s Z77 chipset supporting Intel’s “Ivy Bridge” processors. That’s good news for those waiting the new processors in Q2. Although these are only pre-release builds which may be obvious given the lack of elaborate heatsinks, etc. The two that are currently being shown are the Z77-GD65, and a higher-end Z77-GD80. Each are supposed to sport native USB 3.0 and PCIE 3.0 with the GD80 likely having the oft talked about Thunderbolt support. Each also offer four RAM slots for DDR3-2667 modules (OC), Military Grade III components, ClickBIOS II, OC Gene II, Multi-BIOS II, and THX TruStudio Pro sound.
