CellShock DDR2 1000 2GB Memory Kit
Overclocking Results
Overclocking with this ram was a rather difficult chore. I believe it was not so much a chore because of the actually DDR2 Modules themselves, but because of the holes that are found in the 680i and 650i chipsets. There were just some fsb settings that would not boot or would give you a “no disk” error, among a variety of things. Anyways, that made it a littel more difficult, but we have done our best to bring you some numbers that we are confident were not only stable, but representative of what this ram can do. First off, let’s look at our numbers for overclocking at 4-4-4-12, 2T.
Yes, you see it right! We were able to get to DDR2 speeds of 1117. Very nice indeed! It is a great showing for this relatively unknown name in the US market.
Next, we loosened the timings to 5-5-5-18 to see what could be done, and as you can see from the pic, we did not do too bad, though we had hoped to get a little higher.
We were a little surprised that this was the limit, since these results were so close to the 4-4-4-12 results. There was nothing that even resembled stability after this point, so we are confident we could not go any higher.
We did add a little extra cooling to the board and to the modules just to see if it might help, but alas, nothing we did gave us any more favorable results.
Ok, let’s wrap her up!
