Call of Duty Elite Membership Enjoys Strong Growth

By

PC Call of Duty gamers recently felt hard-done by when Activision Blizzard launched the Call of Duty Elite service recently, since consoles owners were invited to join, but not them. Now, they can feel a bit worse about it, since the growth figures for the service suggests that snubbing PC gamers has done the company no harm at all. Still why throw away revenue?

The graphs below show that Elite membership has grown by over 40% since November, while Premium Elite membership by over 33% in the same period, which is a geat result for Activision Blizzard, awkward company name not withstanding. These figures mean that total membership volume has now reached 10 million gamers, with 2 million of those on a paid subscription, putting a lot of money into the company’s piggybank.

As of April 30, 2012, more than 10 million gamers have registered for Call of Duty Elite, including more than two million premium annual memberships the company has sold for the online service.
