Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 PC Launch Day Sales Boom

By

PC gamers responded well to the latest Call of Duty game, Black Ops 4, as sales of the PC version of the game are reported to be more than double the sales of last year’s CoD launch. PCGamer reports that Activision has said that PC sales have hit a new franchise high. The new game is notable as the first CoD game to skip Steam and be sold digitally only via Battle.net.

One thing lacking from Black Ops 4 is a single player campaign mode. All you get with the launch this year is online multiplayer and the battle royale mode Blackout. Battle royale games have been huge this year with PUBG and Fortnite leading the charge.

Big sales of the game on PC and console will certainly mean the game franchise will carry on. Having played PC shooters for many, many years I will certainly miss the campaign. Some of the best single player campaigns I have played were in the CoD universe.

At least we have the 65-hour long Red Dead Redemption 2 single player campaign to look forward to, even if that game hasn’t been announced for PC. Black Ops 4 is still earning praise from gamers and looks to be a solid game, even if you can only play in multiplayer mode.
